We bought this voucher from Groupon offering Up to 54% Off at Hakka Yuen Restaurant: Cash Voucher for All Food from RM15 and there are more than 44 choices of authentic Hakka dishes such as abacus, mutton, noodles, rice, meat balls, and etc. We planned to visit this place to try the traditional Hakka cuisines. My grandfather is a Hakka born, but all of us including my dad we did not practice to speak that Hakka language. Hakka Yuen is located at Taman Yulek Cheras. I noticed the signboard is unclear and quite old signage. The decoration is simple and Chinese authentic dining table and chairs. The place is quite limited and we need to squeeze in. There are lots of choices from the menu to try on. With vouchers in hand, we indeed save a lot.

Hakka signature - Hakka lui char / lei cha .One person serving of lei cha that is topped with many types of vegetables and all shredded and fined chopped. Range from crisp choi pou (radish), long beans, tofu. leeks, and crunchy roasted peanuts. Served with a bowl of warm green tea based broth made from pounded basil and tea leaves..Aromatic and appetizing by just looking at it. Healthy and refreshing meal to start off with.

Pork minced rice with egg

Hakka vinegar braised pork trotter simmering in sweet black vinegar, lots of ginger and black fungus.Thick broth and aromatic. Always my favourite among all

Simple fried egg with basil leaves

Another specialties - pork belly mui choi

Tummy warming Pig stomach pepper soup. The texture is chewy and flavourful.Great to dip with the soy sauce.

Traditional home cooked Chinese style of fried fish version. I just in love with the ginger  layered on top of the crispy fish. This dish is more fragrant and savoury. I can add one more bowl of rice with the ginger soy sauce. The sauce taste so good!!!....heavenly

Another famous Hakka dish is the abacus beads (mashed yam ball). It is stir-fried with minced meat, dried shrimps, mushroom, and black fungus. The texture is chewy and full of yam taste. The condiments blends a perfect balance on the flavour.

The whole table is full of food..can we finished it all??

Sweet and sour pork
Overall, the food is good and service is efficient too. Dining environment is pleasant and I might visiting again. Craving for their special Hakka yong tau foo and ginger wine chicken.
